Sea Gull Queen Suite
Description
Cayucos wears its history openly. Captain James Cass built the wharf here in the 1870s, turning the town into a shipping point for grain and lumber before it settled into its second life as a beach town, and the Cayucos Historical Society exhibit inside the Cayucos Surf Co. still tells that story. Today the same few blocks hold antique shops, bakeries, casual seafood spots, and a working pier, all within an easy walk of one another. Locals call it the last of the old California beach towns, and the pace backs up the claim.
Location
Cayucos sits on California’s Central Coast roughly halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, minutes north of Morro Bay along Highway 1. This suite occupies the front unit of the historic Sea Gull property, a couple of blocks from the heart of downtown and a short walk to the sand, the pier, coffee shops, and restaurants. Cayucos State Beach stretches six miles of white sand south toward Morro Rock and is among the best in the state for surfing, swimming, and beachcombing, with nearby parking, outdoor showers, and picnic facilities. Bluff-edge trails at Estero Bluffs State Park sit just north of town, and no license is needed to drop a line from the pier. Travelers looking to give something back can join a beach cleanup or a bluff conservation walk through Stewardship Travel for Good, or browse the full Cayucos destination guide for events, dining, and local favorites.
Layout
This fully remodeled 500 square foot suite has one bedroom and one bath and comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests. The bedroom holds a queen bed with an adjoining bath featuring a tiled step-in shower, and the living room adds a queen sleeper sofa for a second pair of guests. A large sliding glass door fills the living space with natural light and opens onto a private front patio with Mission style seating. The scale suits couples and small families especially well. The suite shares the restored 1930s Sea Gull grounds with the Sea Gull Bunk Suite and the three bedroom Casa Cayucos, and all three units can be reserved together to accommodate up to 18 guests with children.
Amenities
The full kitchen is stocked for everything from a complete dinner to snacks packed for a day on the coast, with counter seating and a dining table for four. The living room includes a large smart television and an electric fireplace that runs with or without heat for ambience, and high speed Wi-Fi keeps you connected throughout. Beach essentials, linens, and towels are provided. One dedicated parking space is included in the off-street gravel lot, with additional street parking nearby, and this is a non smoking property where pets are not permitted.
