Cayucos Easter Dog Parade

It’s that time of year to plan your doggy’s puparazzi-worthy wear for a furbulously great cause in Cayucos! The 2026 Cayucos Lioness Club’s Annual Easter Dog Parade starts at Cayucos Pier at 12 noon Saturday, April 4. This event, which traditionally occurs on the Saturday preceding Easter Sunday, invites residents and visitors to dress their dogs in festive costumes for a leashed parade.
Where: Follow the Easter Bunny and friends beginning at the foot of Cayucos Pier and proceed along Front Street to N. Ocean Ave. crossing at the crosswalk from Shoreline Inn in a loop back to the pier.
Purpose: The parade is a fundraiser for the Cayucos Lioness Club’s Mutt Mitts Program, which provides free pet waste bags at over 50 locations to help keep local beaches clean.
Activities: The event features costumed pets, a parade and includes a raffle and T-shirt sales.
The Cayucos Mutt Mitts Program is a community-driven initiative managed by the Lioness Club of Cayucos to keep local beaches and town streets clean of dog waste. The program maintains approximately 55 dispensers and 24 trash containers stretching from Toro Creek to the Estero Bluffs State Park.
The Cayucos Lioness Club purchases more than 300,000 Mutt Mitt bags annually, covering all beach accesses and many downtown locations. The program is funded entirely through donations, volunteer and fundraising efforts, specifically the annual Easter Dog Parade.
Don’t have a pet? Come on down and join the walk or cheer from the parade route. Either way, it’s a doggone great start to another fun weekend in Cayucos!
