Front Row Ocean Views
Description
Cayucos is what people mean when they talk about the last of the old California beach towns. Downtown is a few walkable blocks of Ocean Avenue lined with antique shops, casual eateries, and cafes, all anchored by a historic wooden pier that has been the center of town life for generations. Behind it all, open ranchland rises into oak-crested hills where cattle graze within sight of the surf. The whole place runs on an unhurried rhythm that has more to do with the tides than the clock.
Location
Roughly halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco and minutes north of Morro Bay along Highway 1 you’ll find Cayucos tucked onto the coastal bluffs. This home is positioned directly on the oceanfront at the north end of Ocean Avenue, so the sand, the pier, and the heart of downtown are all within a short walk. The Cayucos Pier is a designated Whale Trail viewpoint and a favorite for pier and surf fishing, with sea otters and harbor seals often working the water just below. At low tide, the rocky intertidal zones nearby fill with sea stars, urchins, and anemones, while Estero Bluffs State Park to the north offers bluff-edge trails for every ability level.
