Magnificent Mountain Views

Description
Cambria has an artistic streak that runs deeper than most coastal towns its size. Main Street links the East and West Villages half a mile apart, where storybook Victorian architecture houses galleries, artists’ studios, boutiques, and tasting rooms, and where dinner reservations on a weekend are worth making ahead. The town is often called the Pines by the Sea for the Monterey pine forest that surrounds it, one of only a few native stands left in the world. It is a place that rewards slowing down and coloring a little outside the lines.

Location
Cambria sits on California’s Central Coast along Highway 1, north of Cayucos and just south of San Simeon. This home is set in the pines within easy reach of Moonstone Beach Drive and Main Street but far enough off the highway to stay quiet. A day here can start with boutiques and galleries in the two Villages and end with oceanfront dining, or run north to Hearst Castle, where daily tours cover the gardens, pools, and art collection, with the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery a few minutes further along the coast. Cambria also anchors the Points North wine trail, and tasting rooms along Highway 1 range from oceanfront Moonstone Beach to meadow settings inland. For history, the Cambria Historical Society runs a self-guided walking tour through the East Village with 28 stops among homes and storefronts dating to the 1870s, outlined in the Cambria destination guide.

Layout
This 3,200 square foot home has five bedrooms and five and a half baths and sleeps up to 12 guests. All bedrooms are on the lower level: the primary has a king bed, private deck access, a walk-in closet, and an attached bath with a dual vanity and step-in shower; a second primary offers a king bed and attached bath with step-in shower; the third bedroom has a queen with an attached full bath; the fourth has a queen and a twin with an attached full bath; and the fifth has a queen and a twin served by a hall bath. An additional sleeping area off the downstairs hallway holds a futon with access to the lower deck, and the library room upstairs adds two more futons and a television. Common spaces are upstairs, which keeps gatherings separate from the sleeping quarters, and the layout works well for groups that want both togetherness and somewhere to slip away.

Amenities
The kitchen is built for cooking at scale, with a restaurant grade refrigerator and freezer, an industrial range, a double oven, bar seating for four, and a dining table that comfortably seats eight. A game room with a billiards table, television, and half bath gives the group a second gathering spot, and two decks extend the living space outdoors, one off the living room and one off the dining area with a natural gas grill and picnic table. Guests also have high speed Wi-Fi, smart televisions, and a washer and dryer. Parking accommodates three vehicles, one in the garage and two in the driveway. Please note the living room fireplace is decorative and not operational, and this is a non smoking property where pets are not permitted.
