Pines and Pacific

Description
The town of Cambria sits in one of only a handful of native Monterey pine stands left on earth, and its East and West Villages hold art galleries, tasting rooms, and restaurants along streets whose storefronts date to the 1870s. Down at the shore, Moonstone Beach draws sea glass hunters and beachcombers to sift the sand for the wave-worn stones that gave it its name. It is a slow, unhurried place that rewards wandering more than planning.

Location
Cambria sits on California’s Central Coast along Highway 1, north of Cayucos and minutes south of San Simeon and Hearst Castle. This home is tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood beside the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, 437 protected acres of ocean bluff, marine terrace grassland, and Monterey pine forest with trails leading out from the door. The preserve holds 17 distinct trails ranging from easy to moderate, including a wheelchair-accessible Bluff Trail that runs a mile each way above the surf, and the broader network of Cambria hikes connects through Fern Canyon, Strawberry Canyon, and Santa Rosa Creek. Migrating whales pass close enough to spot from the bluffs, and the Whale Trail interpretive sign at Shamel Park is a short drive away.
